Washington County Schools District welcomed 2,725 students in 2022-23 school year

There were 2,725 students enrolled in Washington County Schools District in the 2022-23 school year, 3.6% less than the previous year, according to reports from the Georgia Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51% of them were female, and 49% were male.

Data also shows that most of the students were Black, representing 68% of the Washington County Schools District's total enrollment.

Washington County Schools District roughly covers four schools within Washington County and has a main office in Sandersville.

Among the four schools in Washington County Schools District, Washington County High School recorded the highest enrollment of 880 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Chronic absenteeism in Georgia has declined from its 2022 peak of 25%, but it still remains above pre-pandemic levels (11.8%). In 2024, about 20.7% of all students in the state missed 10% or more of their classes.
