There were 664 students enrolled in Hancock County School District in the 2022-23 school year, 2.6% less than the previous year, according to reports from the Georgia Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.9% of them were female, and 49.1% were male.

Data also shows that most of the students were Black, representing 95.9% of the Hancock County School District's total enrollment.

Hancock County School District roughly covers three schools within Hancock County and has a main office in Sparta.

Among the three schools in Hancock County School District, Lewis Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 273 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Chronic absenteeism in Georgia has declined from its 2022 peak of 25%, but it still remains above pre-pandemic levels (11.8%). In 2024, about 20.7% of all students in the state missed 10% or more of their classes.
