Erica McBride was recently named recipient of the Randy Helton Family Scholarship for the spring 2023 semester by the Oconee Fall Line Technical College (OFTC) Foundation.  

McBride is from Statesboro and is enrolled in the college’s Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) Bridge program. 

The Randy Helton Family Scholarship was established in 2019 by Trustees of the former OFTC Foundation North to honor long serving Trustee Randy Helton and his service to the college and the Foundation. Helton and his family continue to maintain funding for the scholarship.  

Recipients of the scholarship must maintain a 3.0 GPA, submit an essay on why they chose OFTC, and must have a faculty recommendation.  

“Erica is an amazing student who drives to Sandersville from Statesboro one day a week to further her nursing career,” shared Kathy Aaron, Executive Director of the OFTC Foundation and member of the Helton family. “Her ability to work as a LPN, attend classes one day a week, and maintain a very high GPA makes her the type of student the Foundation is proud to support. The Foundation would like to congratulate Erica on her accomplishments and wishes her the very best in her career.”
