Crowds Gather at OFTC’s 17th Annual Festival of Trees Sip N’ See

Christmas melodies filled the air, decorated Christmas trees lined the halls, and cups of hot chocolate were being poured while friends and family gathered to partake in the holiday cheer during Oconee Fall Line Technical College’s (OFTC) 17th annual Festival of Trees Sip ‘N See, Tuesday, December 6.

The College hosts the Festival of Trees every year and displays Christmas trees sponsored by local businesses and organizations, each one often decorated to represent its sponsor. The special Sip ‘N See event hosted on the Dublin Campus is after hours and allows the community to come together and view the trees in a festive, holiday setting.

This year, students from Southwest Laurens Elementary School’s Choir performed a variety of Christmas songs, entertaining festival guests and proud supporters alike.

Viewers also had an opportunity to vote on their fan-favorite tree which will be announced later this month. The winning tree will have a special ‘Fan Favorite’ ornament displayed on its branches for the remainder of this year’s viewing.

The Festival of Trees will continue through December 22 and is open for public viewing Monday – Thursday, 8 AM – 5 PM in Sandersville and Dublin. For more info or to learn how to sponsor a tree next year, contact Shalesta Hendrix or visit the College’s websiteOFTC.edu.
