City of Dublin Announces Cook as New Marketing and Communications Specialist

The City of Dublin, Georgia appointed Renia Avera Cook as its new Marketing and Communications Specialist on July 11, 2022.

As the Marketing and Communications Specialist, Cook is now responsible for branding, promoting, and executing the City of Dublin’s marketing campaign. The incumbent plans, develops, and coordinates public relations mediums; ensures timely distribution of information to the public, media, City departments, and other governmental agencies; develops a marketing strategy for the City’s enterprise funds, performs a variety of analytical and administrative duties, including special projects; and, maintains the City’s website.  

Cook joins the City of Dublin’s team from Heart of Georgia Healthy Start, where she was the Social Services Coordinator.  Prior to this role, she served as the Business Development and Community Relations Coordinator for Dublin’s Community Service Board of Middle Georgia.  She brings over 12 years of Marketing and Community Development to the table. 

Cook shared, “Being a volunteer for special events, walking through the Market on Madison on Saturday mornings, and shopping local is what I enjoy most about Dublin.  By accepting this role, I am able to engulf my talents and strengths to support the City of Dublin; and for that I am ecstatic for this opportunity.  I chose to live here and I love to call Dublin my home”.

“Renia is a welcome addition to our team!”  said City Manager, Josh Powell.  “She is going to do great things as we look to improve the city’s website, revamp our marketing strategy, and ensure the public stays engaged with all of the positive things the city has going on.  Her depth of experience is going to benefit our town!”

Renia Avera Cook, a Thomasville, Georgia native, graduated with a Communications Degree from Brewton Parker College.  Cook serves on the advisory board for Widows Oil Ministry and is an advocate for Kid’s Cup, a community closet serving children.  Cook is also a Lay-Speaker within the Methodist Church.  She is a member of the Tuesday night bowling league at the Shamrock Bowling Center.  Cook resides in Dublin, Georgia, with her husband Cayce Cook.
