Dublin-Laurens County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Mar. 1.
Dublin City Schools is pleased to announce that Dr. Shannon Norfleet will serve as the new principal for the Irish Gifted Academy Middle Grades beginning in the 2022-23 school year.
Dr. Norfleet previously served as principal at Thomasville High School from 2018-2020, Howard High School from 2014-2018, and Bloomfield Middle School from 2012-2014. He has more than 25 years in education.
A native of Bleckley County, Dr. Norfleet is married to Lee Childers Norfleet. The couple has three children: Alex, Jameson, and Ethan.
“Dr. Norfleet brings a wealth of experience in the classroom, and as an administrator,” said Superintendent Dr. Fred Williams. “He has a heart for students, and a passion for moving the needle in the classroom. He will be a fantastic addition to our Dublin City Schools family.”
