Swainsboro-Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Feb. 9.
STAR Students and Teachers for Emanuel County Schools recognized at Emanuel County Board of Education meeting.
Emanuel County Institute senior, Landon Goodman, and Swainsboro High School senior, Savannah Reynolds, have been named the 2022 PAGE STAR Student for their respective schools. They each earned this recognition for academic achievement and performance on the SAT. Goodman selected Kendall Hadden as his STAR Teacher and Reynolds selected Cindy Riner as her STAR Teacher. The Swainsboro-Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce, local STAR program sponsor, announced the honor Thursday, January 27th, 2022 at the annual Chamber Banquet, but winners were not able to attend due to the State Beta Convention. On Tuesday, February 8th, STAR students and teachers were recognized again at the Emanuel County Board of Education meeting held at Emanuel County Institute. At this time, STAR Student and Teacher System winners were also announced.
Savannah Reynolds and Cindy Riner were recognized as the STAR Student and Teacher System winners for the Emanuel County School System. They will compete at the Region level, and hopefully the State level as well. Congratulations to our 2022 STAR Students and Teachers for Emanuel County Schools.
