HABERSHAM MEDICAL CENTER: Habersham Medical Center Wins the GREENAIR 2021 Hospital Sustainability Award!

Schoolaward2

Habersham Medical Center issued the following announcement on Jan. 13.

"As Green Air enters our 11th year of business, we proudly recognize two healthcare facilities out of over 135 hospitals in which Green Air cleans Air Handler Units. The footprint in which our clients are located covers the SE United States. From Texas to Florida up to Virginia and Kentucky. We have contracts and agreements with large multiple hospital healthcare systems that span multiple states, down to the rural county hospitals.

Each year 12 hospitals are nominated, and two hospitals are selected for the Green Air Hospital Sustainability Award. The first winner for 2021, was a long time coming for this facility that has been nominated in the past, but this is their first time winning.

This hospital in North Georgia, led by Mr. Michael Armstrong has worked very hard over the years to implement many of the programs in places. Recycling, low water use fixtures, but the largest improvement at this facility has been the installation of VFD’s at each Air Handler Unit.

The Operations dept has done a tremendous job in finding and implementing energy-saving programs. Being a rural facility, this hospital has to be diligent in the use of their resources to make sure they were doing the best for their patients, visitors, and employees. One of the benefits along with energy savings, this facility has seen, is an improvement in indoor air quality. It is our honor that we presented on December 8th 2021 Habersham Medical Center in Demorest, Georgia the Green Air 2021 Hospital Sustainability Award. Under the leadership of Mr. Michael Armstrong, Vice President of Operations, along with Mr. Garnett Hulsey, Jr, Facilities Manager, have led a team of Healthcare Engineers that genuinely care about the well-being and integrity of the facility, the Sustainable practices in their facility, and most importantly, the community in which they serve.

Congratulations HMC Operations Dept!"
