Putnam County High School in Putnam County welcomed most students in 2022-23 school year

Putnam County High School had the highest enrollment among Putnam County schools, welcoming 893 students during the 2022-23 school year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50% of them were male, and 50% were female.

The most represented ethnicity among Putnam County High School students was white, with 48% of students identifying as such.

Among the four schools in Putnam County, Putnam County Middle School ranked second in enrollment numbers with 673 students, while Putnam County Elementary School welcomed 631 students to be ranked third in the 2022-23 school year.

Putnam County High School is part of Putnam County School District, which generally encompasses schools within Putnam County, with its main office in Eatonton.

In the previous school year, Putnam County High School also had the highest number of students among Putnam County schools.

As of 2024, Georgia has an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:15, which is better than the national average of 1:16. The state has its best student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1 in pre-kindergarten and middle school grades, while high school has an average ratio of 17:1.
