Speaker of the House Jon Burns (R-Newington) has appointed State Representative Butch Parrish (R-Swainsboro) as the Chairman of the House Rules Committee. The announcement was made today, highlighting Parrish's exceptional representation of his district and his commitment to improving healthcare across Georgia.

In a statement, Speaker Burns expressed his confidence in Parrish's ability to serve the Georgia House and the people of the state in his new role. Burns also acknowledged Parrish's role in continuing the legacy of Chairman Richard Smith, who previously held the position.

Chairman Parrish has been representing House District 158, which includes Candler, Emanuel, and Treutlen counties and portions of Bulloch County, since 1985. He has previously served as the Chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and the Chairman of the Special Committee on Healthcare.
