"A celebration of one of our state’s most important economic engines, the State of the Ports offers stakeholders the chance to hear about GPA’s plans for the future. This year’s theme, 'All In,' describes the numerous, simultaneous capital projects underway to facilitate future growth of our ports, including the Port of Savannah, the Port of Brunswick, and our several inland ports. As vital as our ports are to the economy, they are also an important part of communities in our area."

In a press release, Representative Burns expressed gratitude for the support of his House colleagues, including Chairman Bill Hitchens and Representative Lehman Franklin, and extended appreciation to former State Representative Ann Purcell. He also emphasized the critical partnership of the Georgia Department of Transportation in maintaining the rapid growth of the ports.

The press release by the Representative states that the theme "All In" for this year's Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) highlighted ongoing capital projects aimed at enhancing the future growth of key ports like the Port of Savannah and the Port of Brunswick, as well as various inland ports. The representative noted the importance of the GPA given recent completions like the Mason Mega Rail Project and Berth 1 realignment, alongside upcoming developments such as a new container yard and Ocean Terminal renovation.

Representative Burns stated in his press release: "As vital as our ports are to the economy, they are also an important part of communities in our area. — where many people live whose livelihoods depend on the ports one way or another. GPA is committed to supporting those communities and announced a $6 million donation to Housing Savannah, Inc., for the Port of Savannah Workforce Housing Initiative which will positively impact the neighborhoods near the port."

According to the Georgia Port Authorities website, Georgia's ports have played a vital role in facilitating international trade and bolstering the state's economy, benefiting its diverse population. The Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) focuses on optimizing port facilities for efficient operations, job creation, and business opportunities to support millions of Georgians. Through technological advancements and strategic measures, the GPA aims to enhance competitiveness, cargo movement, and overall performance while planning for sustained growth and security.

The GPA, paired with the private sector, contributes to over 440,000 jobs and $106 billion in revenue for the state's economy, according to the Georgia Port Authorities website.
