Multiple Promotion Within the Dublin Fire Department

Success stairs

The City of Dublin, Georgia is pleased to announce the promotions of 8 employees within the Dublin Fire Department with the final effective date of January 20, 2023.

All 8 promotions, from entry level firefighters to captains, have occurred internally.

Vashon Herring (25 years of service) and Scott Locke (23 years of service) were both promoted to Fire Captain on December 23, 2022. James Bridges (15 years of service) and Adam Hobbs (18 years of service) were promoted to Fire Lieutenants on January 6, 2023. Jamie Juarez (17 years of service) was promoted Fire Sergeant, and David Price (13 years of service) was promoted to Fire Corporal on January 6, 2023. Brett Sanford (6 years of service) will be promoted to Fire Sergeant, and Donnie Walker (4 years of service) will be promoted to Fire Corporal on January 20, 2023.

“As Fire Chief of the City of Dublin, I can say the promotional processes that have taken place over the past months have made me proud. The candidates for promotion were positive and encouraging to each other throughout the process. In my opinion that is what fire department brotherhood is all about,” stated Chief Matthew Cutler.

Promotions have occurred due to the retirement of Jonathan Kowtko (43 years of service) and Randy Hart (42 years of service). Both gentlemen began their careers as a firefighter, level 3 and completed their careers as captains. The City of Dublin supports all employees and encourages education,
self-growth, and training to facilitate promotions from within. These promotions are an example of that effort.
