Four Carrollton City Schools students have been selected to move on to the regional competition for the Daughters of the American Revolution American History Essay Contest. Fifth grader Jaina Williams, sixth grader Grey Jackson, seventh grader Jett Richardson, and eighth grader Anna Houser will have their essays reviewed by a panel to determine if they will move on to the next round of the competition in March. The American History Essay Contest was established to encourage young people to think creatively about the nation’s history and is open to students in grades five through eight in schools and registered home-study programs in Carroll and Haralson counties in Georgia.
