The Oconee Fall Line Technical College (OFTC) Board of Directors (BOD) inducted Blake Daniels of Laurens County as its newest member during a Dublin meeting, Thursday, December 15.
Daniels was sworn in by Judge Genola Jackson, Probate Judge of Laurens County.
Although governed by the State Board of the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), OFTC’s local board of directors plays an important role in accomplishing the mission of the College while working in concert with the State Board.
The purpose of the local board is to facilitate the delivery of programs, services, and activities as directed by the State Board of the TCSG. They also advise the President and State Board of local industry and community needs for the programs and services provided by the technical college, and advocate within the community and the state on issues of importance in support of workforce development efforts.
Daniels currently serves as the City Treasurer for the City of Dublin. Prior to working for the city, Daniels was employed at OFTC in various roles in accounting and administrative services from 2012-2018. He is a current member of the Exchange Club of Dublin and is a graduate of Georgia Southern University.
Also, during the meeting OFTC BOD member Ernest Wade was honored for his nine years of service representing Laurens County and his retirement from the board.
