Sixes Elementary School issued the following announcement on June 2.
Cherokee County School District students scored through the annual CCSD Math Madness competition!
The month-long celebration planned by the Office of Curriculum & Instruction encourages problem-solving, real-world math application and fun.
Students in kindergarten through fifth grade also had the chance to win prizes through an i-Ready competition using CCSD’s online math system. Students earned contest credit as they completed their lessons on the system as they do year-round. They advanced in the contest as they worked individually on the system and increased their learning level.
A districtwide Champion School and Champion Class recently were recognized, as was the top elementary school from each Innovation Zone and top class for each Zone and three overall Student Champions. Plaques and prizes were sponsored by Curriculum Associates.

Hightower. “Thank you to all of our math teachers and our Curriculum & Instruction team for continuing to look for new ways to engage students in math learning. Math skills are critically important for all students, and helping students to enjoy math builds stronger learners.”
