Swainsboro-Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Apr. 18.
The FFA Forestry Field Day was held at the Swainsboro-Emanuel County Recreation Department on Thursday, April 14th. This event is sponsored by the Swainsboro-Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce and kicks off the start of the Pine Tree Festival each year. This year, 12 junior teams and 12 senior teams competed in ten different event categories with a total of 264 students competing. The Georgia Forestry Commission had over 20 volunteers assisting in the events throughout the day.
The Overall First Place Senior Team was Banks County High School, and the Overall First Place Junior Team was Wheeler County Middle School!
