Moving forward with Leadership Putnam Board Member and City of Milledgeville Manager, Hank Griffeth!
Hank Griffeth is a native of Milledgeville, Georgia where he currently has the pleasure to serve as City Manager. Before being named City Manager, he served as Milledgeville City Planner and Project Manager for the Development Authority of Milledgeville and Baldwin County. Prior to coming to these roles, he spent over 30 years teaching and in executive administration positions in higher education as well as working with the Milledgeville-Baldwin County Chamber of Commerce.
Hank earned a Master of Public Administration from Georgia College & State University as well as a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from The University of Georgia. He is a graduate of the Robert E Knox, Jr. Municipal Leadership Institute, the Georgia Academy of Economic Development, and the Technical College System of Georgia Executive Leadership Academy. He is also a Georgia Certified Economic Development Trainer. He has earned the Certificate of Achievement from the University of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute of Government and the Georgia Municipal Association and completed The Georgia Department of Community Affairs and Georgia Planning Association’s Community Planning Institute. In addition to these, Hank is an alumnus of Leadership Baldwin and Leadership Putnam, the later for which he co-facilitates their annual weekend-long Leadership Retreat.
Through his work as Milledgeville City Manager, Hank serves on The Georgia Municipal Association’s Member Services Advisory Council as well as the City of Milledgeville Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Committee. He currently serves as a Trustee for the Central Georgia Technical College Foundation where he is the Foundation Treasurer as well as a member of the Governance Board of the Baldwin County College and Career Academy. He is a Volunteer Firefighter for Baldwin County Fire Rescue and is a member of Northside Baptist Church in Milledgeville where he serves as Church Treasurer, sings in the Sanctuary Choir and the Men’s Ensemble, and teaches an adult Sunday School class. His hobbies include running 5K, 10K, and half-marathon events, biking, and playing golf.
Hank is married to the former Cindy Harrison, and they have two married children, Emily Williams, and Eric Griffeth.
While Hank has been and continues to be blessed to enjoy a wonderful professional career, the best job he has ever had is serving as the proud Pop-Pop to Brantley Harrison Griffeth, Hugh Pryor Griffeth, Jack Henry Williams, and John Elliott Williams.
