County of Baldwin issued the following announcement on Nov. 12.
The Georgia Department of Community Affairs recently designated Baldwin County a Georgia Certified Broadband Ready Community!
The certification signifies that a local unit of government in a community has taken steps to reduce obstacles to broadband infrastructure investment. Baldwin County is excited that Tri-County EMC and Washington EMC will provide broadband service to all its customers. The county is monitoring other broadband providers' plans to provide broadband service to the remaining unserved citizens. To receive Baldwin County's endorsement a broadband provider must provide service to the greatest number of unserved residences and not duplicate existing service, or infringe upon the EMCs' service areas.
