Dublin-Laurens County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Oct. 21.

Students at Dublin City Schools graduated at a rate (94.16) 10 points higher than the state average (83.7), marking the second consecutive year the district has posted a 90-plus graduation rate.

The Georgia Department of Education announced the figures during a special press release this morning, which showed that both Dublin High School (95.93) and Moore Street School (87.1), beat the state average for yet another year. This helped the district to claim the highest graduation rate in Laurens County, one of the highest grad rates in Middle Georgia, and the Heart of Georgia RESA district.

The district’s overall grad rate also outpaced its 2020 mark for both four and five-year grad rate cohorts.

Dublin High School’s four-year graduation rate continues a trend by the school of 95-plus for five of the past six years-the best in Laurens County by seven points-while the five-year graduation rate continues to remain above 94 percent for the third consecutive year.

Moore Street School continues its impressive run posting grad rates higher than the state average, including improving its five-year graduation rate from 75.41 in 2020 to 91.67 this year.

“These figures are not just numbers, they represent living, breathing young men and women who are the true testimony behind these results,” said Dr. Fred Williams, Superintendent. “They, along with the hard work of our dedicated staff, show what can be accomplished when we all come together to work towards a common goal.”
