COUNTY OF GREENE: Jr. MLB Home Run Derby Contest

County of Greene issued the following announcement on July 14. 

What

The Greene County Recreation Department is happy to be partnering up with the Pete Nance Boys and Girls Club and the Greene County Schools for the Jr. MLB Home Run Derby contest. The winner will advance to regional competitions, and the finals will be held during the MLB World Series.

When and Where

Date:  Friday, July 23

Time: 10:00 AM

Location:  Greene County Recreation Department Fields 3 & 4

Who Is Eligible to Participate

All boys and girls 14 years and under are welcome to participate in one of two age groups: 12U and 14U. Participants will be grouped by their age as of  July 17, 2021.  Parents and/or guardians should be ready to show proof of age with a picture or copy of the participants birth certificate. 

Registration Information

Cost: This is a free event.

Registration: Participants must register online prior to the event to be eligible to participate.

Bat Requirements

  • Cannot be greater than 34 inches in length 
  • Cannot have a barrel greater than 2 5/8 inches in diameter.
  • All non-wood bats must have the USA Baseball stamp, BBCOR stamp, or labeled with a RPF of 1.15 or less.  
  • All other bats are not allowed.
