For the 2024-25 school year, Oak Hill Middle School enrolled 57 multiracial students, reflecting a 21.3% increase compared to the prior year, Georgia Department of Education reports show.
According to the data, the total student enrollment at Oak Hill Middle School was 963 for 2024-25. Multiracial students accounted for 6% of the total, ranking as the third-largest demographic at the school.
The campus is located in the Baldwin County School District, with the district office based in Milledgeville.
Baldwin High School, one of the six schools in Baldwin County School District, had the highest number of multiracial students during the 2024-25 school year, enrolling 61 students.
The Georgia Department of Education’s Fiscal Year 2026-1 report showed more than 1.7 million students attended public schools statewide. Of those, 787,206 were in elementary grades (45.9%), 388,733 in middle school (22.7%), and 539,092 in high school (31.4%).
Chronic absenteeism continues to pose a major challenge for Georgia schools in the aftermath of the pandemic, as 20.7% of students missed at least 10% of school days during 2024, the Georgia Department of Education noted. To address the issue, GaDOE implemented a statewide initiative offering a real-time attendance dashboard, a public awareness campaign, and targeted resources for districts with high needs to promote regular attendance.
In 2025, state lawmakers approved revisions to school attendance laws to prohibit expulsion on the sole basis of absenteeism. The update also introduced new reporting requirements and coordinated with initiatives helping students access diploma alternatives.
As of 2026, Georgia’s average student-to-teacher ratio was about 14:1, surpassing the national average of 15:1.
