Morgan Medical Center announced on Apr. 6 that it has received a $1 million matching challenge grant from an anonymous donor, launching the Morgan Medical Center Foundation’s $2 million capital campaign, called Growing for You.
The campaign aims to address the increasing healthcare needs of Morgan County and nearby communities by funding improvements and expansions at the medical center. The matching grant encourages community members to contribute donations, which will be matched dollar for dollar up to $1 million, effectively doubling their impact on local healthcare projects.
According to Megan Morris, Executive Director of the Morgan Medical Center Foundation, “This extraordinary commitment is both a gift and a call to action. It reflects a deep belief in our mission and provides an incredible opportunity for our community to come together and invest in the future of local healthcare.”
Funds raised through Growing for You will support several initiatives: enhancing diagnostic imaging with advanced Cardiac CT capabilities and an in-house MRI suite; constructing a third operating room suite; expanding emergency department treatment rooms; creating a new laboratory area; and upgrading pharmacy and cardiopulmonary facilities. These projects are designed to improve patient care, reduce wait times, increase surgical capacity, and expand access to advanced technology.
Ralph A. Castillo, CPA, CEO of Morgan Medical Center said, “Our goal is to ensure that patients do not have to leave the community to receive exceptional care. This campaign represents a vital investment in our future and supports our vision of becoming a patient focused center of excellence, one that will benefit generations to come.”
Community members as well as businesses are encouraged to participate in the challenge by making charitable gifts or taking part through Georgia’s rural hospital tax credit program (Georgia HEART). Both Morgan Medical Center and its foundation operate as non-profit organizations.
