Reports from the Georgia Department of Education indicate that Morgan County Primary School enrolled 38 multiracial students in the 2024-25 school year, matching the enrollment figure from the prior year.

Total enrollment at Morgan County Primary School reached 760 students for 2024-25. Of this population, multiracial students accounted for 5%, placing them as the second-smallest student group at the school.

The primary school is part of the Morgan County School District, which has its central administration office in Madison.

Of the four schools in the Morgan County School District, Morgan County High School saw the largest number of multiracial students for 2024-25, enrolling 43.

According to the Georgia Department of Education’s Fiscal Year 2026-1 report, over 1.7 million students attended Georgia’s public schools. Enrollment was most concentrated in elementary grades at 787,206 students (45.9%), with middle schools at 388,733 students (22.7%) and high schools at 539,092 students (31.4%).

Chronic absenteeism continues to challenge Georgia schools post-pandemic, with 20.7% of students missing at least 10% of school days in 2024, the Georgia Department of Education reported. In response, the GaDOE launched a statewide effort that includes a real-time attendance dashboard, outreach campaigns, and support programs for high-need districts to improve attendance rates.

In 2025, Georgia lawmakers enacted changes to school attendance laws, prohibiting expulsions based solely on absenteeism. The new law introduces additional reporting responsibilities and coordinates with efforts helping students complete diplomas via alternative routes.

As of 2026, Georgia reported an average student-teacher ratio of about 14:1, which is an improvement compared with the national average of 15:1.
