On Wednesday, October 26th, the 2022 Leadership Emanuel class met at Swainsboro High School in the Emanuel County Schools Professional Learning Center and enjoyed a lunch prepared and served by the SHS Culinary Arts students. Discussion centered around encouraging the heart by showing appreciation for individual excellence and celebrating values and victories by creating a spirit of community. While at the high school, the class was given a tour of the culinary arts classroom and technology lab. The technology students showed off the many projects they were working on including 3D printing, laser printing, vinyl printing, and more. The culinary arts classroom consists of all current industry-standard kitchen equipment, and students are able to earn their ServSafe certification through the class. The group moved to Advanced Metal Components to tour the precision sheet metal contract manufacturing facility. The company manufactures component parts for customers throughout the southeast and is the expert in metal fabrication, powder coating, and assembly. A special thank-you goes to Emanuel County Schools for providing a bus to transport the class to the weekly industry tours! Leadership Emanuel is a program sponsored by the Swainsboro-Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce and funded in part by the Millcreek Foundation. Its intent is to build better, more informed leaders in our community through a series of sessions emphasizing practices of exemplary leadership, business and industry tours, and group discussions on issues facing our community both now and in the future. The sessions meet at various locations throughout our county allowing the participants to experience the opportunities available, better equipping them to be more effective leaders for the future.
