0Comments

On Wednesday, November 2nd, the Leadership Emanuel class met at the Georgia Sports Arena for discussion covering economic development, local city and county government, and state representatives in our district. Danny Wayne Faircloth shared about his humble beginnings and the journey that has gotten him where he is today before the class toured several of his operations. The class was able to see several Faircloth facilities including the sawmill, the wood pellet mill, the wood pallet manufacturing facility, and the carbon plant. Everything, from sawdust to bark, is used in their operations. All residuals from the sawmill are used at the pellet mill in different aspects of the process completed there.

Leadership Emanuel is a program sponsored by the Swainsboro-Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce and funded in part by the Millcreek Foundation. Its intent is to build better, more informed leaders in our community through a series of sessions emphasizing practices of exemplary leadership, business and industry tours, and group discussions on issues facing our community both now and in the future. The sessions meet at various locations throughout our county allowing the participants to experience the opportunities available, better equipping them to be more effective leaders for the future.
