Get to know our newest Ambassador, April Dawn Thompson with Magnolia State Bank! Welcome to the team, April!
“I recently moved to Milledgeville with my husband, Jason, in 2021. This area was completely new for me, but not my husband, as his mother and father live here. So, this made the transition a lot easier for me and I adore my in-laws.
I am the Assistant Branch Manager at Magnolia State Bank. I worked in a community bank in Houston County for several years in customer service and it was such a pleasant experience. I really enjoy the hometown feel of a community bank. I have been in banking off and on since 2001. When not in banking, I still held a customer service position. I enjoy meeting, getting to know people and helping them. Many times, a simple smile can make someone’s day. I am a goal orientated person and I set high goals and strive to achieve them. I am always willing to learn new things to better myself.
I have two children. My son, Dallas, who attends Georgia State University and my daughter, Taylor, who attends Kennesaw State University. I am a very proud mama. Since my marriage to my wonderful husband in August of 2021 I have three more children, Hendley, Harrison, and Reed. We also have three rescue pets, two dogs and one cat.
In my spare time you can find me and my husband on the dock at the lake fishing. Of course, my husband will tell you that I am just the netter. When we are not fishing, we are at Truist Park cheering on our 2021 World Champion Atlanta Braves.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the Milledgeville area since moving here and have had the pleasure of attending events with the Baldwin County Chamber of Commerce. I look forward to getting out and about in Baldwin County, meeting new people, and learning the history and events of this wonderful community.
It has been a busy year since I have moved to Milledgeville, buying a new home, getting married and working at Magnolia State Bank. This is just the start of the new chapter of my life. I am looking forward to all the new adventures Baldwin County has in store for me.”
