Fairview Park Hospital announced on Mar. 18 that it has received the 2026 Patient Safety Excellence Award from Healthgrades, placing it among the top 10 percent of hospitals nationwide for patient safety.
The award is based on an analysis of Medicare data and recognizes hospitals that demonstrate a strong commitment to safe, patient-centered care. Healthgrades evaluated risk-adjusted complication and mortality rates from about 4,500 hospitals across the country to determine this year’s recipients.
Brad Griffin, President and Chief Executive Officer of Fairview Park Hospital, said, “We are proud to earn this recognition and announce this achievement for 2026. This recognition highlights the teamwork, accountability, and clinical leadership of our caregivers, who are deeply committed to keeping our patients safe. Safe patient care is at the center of everything we do at Fairview Park Hospital. Our goal is to always help our patients heal in a safe environment that values patient/provider partnership. When patients are able to receive treatment close to home in a facility that values open communication between patient and care team, it is proven that patients recover faster, which gets them back home and to their day-to-day lives in the safest way possible.”
The hospital credits its colleagues, clinical staff, and medical staff for their dedication in achieving this recognition. The announcement also notes HCA Healthcare’s ongoing efforts in advancing patient safety through collaborations with public and private institutions. These include research initiatives such as REDUCE MRSA, ABATE, Swap Out, CLUSTER and INSPIRE aimed at improving infection prevention and strengthening reliability of care.
Looking ahead, Fairview Park Hospital states it will continue focusing on quality improvement measures as part of its commitment to providing safe healthcare services.
