During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic first responders and public safety officers worked tirelessly to maintain order and safety in our community. To show appreciation, Atrium Health Navicent applied for the Public Safety Officials and First Responders Supplement Grant, which is funded from the American Rescue Plan Act, to benefit nearly 130 eligible current and former full-time public safety teammates.

“Public safety teammates have joined health care workers on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic and have faithfully served our community while facing unprecedented challenges,” said Atrium Health Navicent President of Hospitals and Clinics Luis Fonseca. “Using these grant funds, we’re proud to pass along a token of our thanks during Atrium Health Navicent’s Teammate Appreciation Week.”

Atrium Health Navicent teammates, including hospital police officers, communications officers and emergency medical services personnel, who were employed in August 2021 and who hold specific certifications outlined by the state are eligible for the supplement. For current employees, the supplement will be included in pay checks distributed on Aug. 26.

Eligible former teammates will be mailed checks at the same time.
