For the 2024-25 school year, East Laurens High School registered 52 Hispanic students, reflecting a 36.8% increase from the prior year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

Total enrollment at East Laurens High School reached 656 students in the 2024-25 school year. Hispanic students comprised 8% of the student body, ranking as the third-largest demographic at the school.

In 2025, state lawmakers approved legislation updating attendance laws, barring expulsions solely for absenteeism, requiring more reporting, and aligning with alternative diploma routes.

By 2026, Georgia’s student-to-teacher ratio was about 14:1, compared to the national ratio of 15:1.
