The Black History Month Cultural Festival is Friday 24, 2023 from noon until 4 p.m. in the Dublin VAMC Auditorium
 
Chaplain Donald A. Retimiah is our keynote speaker will discuss Guyana.
 
A  Cultural Food Tasting will follow and a male fashion show will demonstrate fashion to include sportswear, casual wear, suits, and locs.
 
African attire will be on display along with a Maranga Dance (rhythm and motion telling a story traveling from West Africa to Central Africa). Other festivities include a mental health dance, “travel” to Belize where performers will illustrate a Maranga followed by Reggae and Salsa.
 
Cultural history would not be complete without the Harlem Renaissance Era performing the Charleston, Moderna, and Jazz. The festival will demonstrate a lesson on African Drums and a performance and conclude with a stilt walker.
