Dublin-Laurens County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Mar. 25.

The City of Dublin, Georgia has appointed Tara Bradshaw as its new City Planner effective April 1, 2022.

As the City Planner, Bradshaw will advance citywide planning initiatives and provide the central point of focus within the City for guiding growth, strategic planning, land use development, future public investment, neighborhood revitalization, and historic preservation, among others. Additionally, she will serve as the city’s liaison to local authorities and boards, providing support with programmatic operations in connection with the overall planning of the city.

“Dublin has never had anyone guiding the overall development of our town to ensure we have quality growth and strategically planned growth. Having someone coordinate the vision of the mayor and council with our public and private partners who invest in our community is going to make us better than we have ever been. Tara already has a proven record of achievement right here in Dublin by being a major part of the growth and development we have seen in the downtown area in the recent years. I can’t wait to see her put that same expertise and energy to work for our whole community,” stated City Manager, Josh Powell.
Bradshaw joins the City of Dublin’s team from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, where she served as Economic Development Specialist for the Office of Downtown Development. Prior to this role, she served as the Executive Director and Main Street Dublin Director for the Dublin Downtown Development Authority. She brings with her 15 years of community planning and economic development experience.

“I am both honored and excited serve in this role. I first moved to Dublin 12 years ago, and I have always loved this community and feel fortunate to play a small part in the progress we’ve seen. I look forward to bringing my experience and leadership style to an already outstanding team at the City,” stated Bradshaw.
Tara Bradshaw, a Cordele, Georgia native, is a graduate of Valdosta State University and a certified Economic Development Finance Professional by the National Development Council. Bradshaw also serves as the Vice Chairperson of the Dublin Laurens Tourism Council, is a member of the Dublin Service League, and a volunteer and advocate for Kid’s Cup, a community closet serving foster families. She resides in Dublin, Georgia, where she and her husband Matthew are the proud parents of two children, Maggie Claire and Lane.
