Monroe, GA – During a signing ceremony in the Monroe office on Friday, June 16th, Representative Mike Collins (R-Ga.) congratulated José Gonzalez for earning an appointment to the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York. José is a recent graduate of the United States Military Academy Preparatory School (USMAPS) and a 2022 graduate of Cedar Shoals High School in Athens. USMAPS, also referred to as West Point Prep, provided José with rigorous academic, physical, and leadership training to prepare him for success at West Point.

“I had the honor of meeting with José Gonzalez to congratulate him for his appointment to the United State Military Academy at West Point,” said Collins. “José is a remarkable young man and we are immensely grateful for his sense of duty to our country. I could not be more proud of young Georgians committed to preparing themselves to serve as future officers in the military!”
