Out of the five district schools, Bleckley County Primary School reported the largest number of multiracial students enrolled in 2024-25, with 43 students.

Statewide, over 1.7 million students were enrolled in Georgia public schools based on the Georgia Department of Education’s Fiscal Year 2026-1 summary. Chronic absenteeism continues to be a prominent concern in Georgia schools following the pandemic, with 20.7% of students missing 10% or more of school days in 2024, the Georgia Department of Education reported. Measures rolled out by the statewide initiative include a real-time attendance dashboard, a public awareness campaign, and focused support for high-need districts to improve attendance rates.

In 2025, Georgia’s legislative body enacted changes to school attendance rules prohibiting expulsion based solely on absenteeism. The legislation also increases reporting requirements and expands alternative diploma pathways.

By 2026, Georgia’s student-to-teacher ratio averaged about 14:1, which is lower than the national ratio of 15:1.
