Atrium Health Navicent issued the following announcement on Apr. 15.

Atrium Health Navicent Chief Human Resources Officer and Atrium Health Chief Experience Officer Vishal Bhalla has been named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s “42 Healthcare Chief Experience Officers to Know” in 2022 list.

Hospitals and health systems across the U.S. are appointing executive team members to focus on patient satisfaction and experience as a differentiator in their market. The national list features the best chief experience officers who work to consider all aspects of patient care, in-person and virtual, as they design systems and build teams to deliver excellent services.

As Atrium Health’s inaugural chief experience officer, Bhalla serves as the leader and driver for experience strategy — including patient, provider, teammate and volunteer experience — delivering nationally leading experiences at Atrium Health facilities in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

In his role as Atrium Health Navicent’s chief human resources officer, Bhalla has elevated Atrium Health Navicent as a workplace-of-choice through commitment to organizational excellence in inclusion, learning, growth and research. He ensures comprehensive, contemporary and effective human resources strategies are executed across the health system to provide relevant, impactful and measurable services.

“Vishal Bhalla’s leadership and support are integral to ensuring we cultivate a diverse talent pipeline of future health care workers, and that we recruit top talent and retain teammates who provide high-quality care to ALL,” said Atrium Health Navicent President and CEO Delvecchio Finley. “Congratulations to Vish on this well-deserved recognition!” Prior to joining Atrium Health Navicent in 2021, Bhalla served as chief experience officer for Parkland Health & Hospital System in Dallas, Texas.

Bhalla completed his Master of Business Administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a health care certificate from the joint Harvard-MIT Healthcare Innovation Initiative. In addition to receiving certification in diversity and inclusion from Cornell University, he is a graduate of the Texas Hospital Association Fellows Program.

Bhalla serves on the Patient Experience Board of The Beryl Institute, Advisory Board of HR Exchange Network and editorial board of the Patient Experience Journal.
